How to Re-make your Home from Habitat ReStore Finds

Not ready for big ticket renovations, but still want a change?  Then let me share a best kept secret with you. Recently I visited the relatively new Habitat for Humanity ReStore.  Ooh lala!  This is a warehouse with lots of good junk, like this gorgeous piece-for $50- that I was dreaming about making into a TV stand for a flat screen.  I would be itching to paint this, but honestly, with a little clean up, this would be lovely in any family room as-is.  I love the sturdy construction, low profile, and quality hardware.

That’s quality stuff, folks. See the label? Henredon is a high-end furniture maker.

Or full cans of high quality paint ($45+ new) at just $10.  Some of it is even Low VOC.

Need a door, for a doorway or a craft project?  There are aisles to choose from.

And my favorite, this awesome, high quality full kitchen with lots of upgrades like wine holder cabinets.  Wow!  I mean, it’s a full, u-shaped cherry kitchen with raised panels! for $3,000!  Oh. My. Gosh!!!!

Lamps, many of them begging to be re-made into stylish outdoor lanterns

  Tools, many brand new…

Pedestal sinks…

Those fancy glass door knobs that you’ll pay big bucks for at the antiques market.  Sorry for the quality on this photo.  I was either getting misty eyed or shaky thinking about all the great projects I could tackle if I was really let loose in here.

Looking for a deal?  Check out this place. These items will be gone by the time you get there, but there will be fresh new finds, trust me. You never know what you’ll find.  Please come back and comment here if you find the perfect piece for your next project at the Habitat MontDelCo ReStore. Remember, they take donations, so they are a great place to unload your quality items you no longer need, and get the tax deduction as well.  And they pick up!
