I was able to prove we had done some things she didn’t remember. She talked bout planning another trip. If you have kids or grandkids, you know that hearing them say they want to spend time with you can be the most precious sound on earth. Photo albums can help you get more of that.

Memory is fragile and fallible. Photos help replay those memories. Each time you see the photos, the memories actually get stronger. This is especially important for kids.

3 Tips to Make the Most of Vacation Photos During Your Trip

Review your vacation pics daily while on vacation.

Delete the duds immediately.

On the last day of vacation, on the plane or drive home, add all pics to an album so you can find them again. On Apple Photos and Google Photos, add them into a digital album labeled “YYYY-MM Locations” where Y=year date, M= month date, and location could be France, Paris, or “Paris France”. Add enough detail so it’ll be easy to find later. You can do this on your phone! (Adding to an album does not move them, nor does it make a copy. It just organizes them into a group.)

If you are only using a PC filing system, you’ll physically move them into a folder. But we recommend using Mylio folders instead, so you get all the fun tools to easily organize with face tags, by date, and other things your PC just can’t do for you.

Keep a place-making photo, not dozens of them. Keep one or two skyline pictures of the Eiffel Tower, not a dozen. Years from now, you’ll cherish the faces of the people you were with, not the monuments you saw.

Editing important photos for exposure, crop, and color, if needed. Just a 10 seconds per picture can make each one better.

Imagine your photos as a printed album. Better yet, turn them into a printed album. Whether you start small or make it a massive coffee table book, turning pages is an entirely different experience than seeing it on your phone.
