What’s Worse than Clutter?

Your things may be worse than clutter; they may be trash already.

what's worse than clutter?

What’s worse than clutter?

Last week I tried to cork a bottle of cooking wine with a wine stopper I got in Hawaii. That trip was at least 20 years ago.

I keep forgetting that I have this little souvenir, so it doesn’t get used much.

When I tried to use it, the cork crumbled in my hand, but only after getting stuck in the bottle, of course.

Don’t worry, I dug out the cork and rescued the wine.

broken wine cork becomes trash, not clutter

But it made me think of all the precious little things that we keep in our homes that are literally of no use to us.

They have gone bad long ago, but they keep taking up space in our lives and homes.

Things dry rot. Lose elasticity. Get brittle. Corrode. Come unglued. Rust. And go bad in so many other ways.

Organizing Cures Clutter and More

Don’t let your house become a mini-trash pit, with things stuffed in drawers and closets that can’t be used any longer.

Keep things around you that you love. Use them until they fall apart.

If you find you aren’t using something that could be used by someone else, send it on to a thrift store sooner rather than later.

Keeping things that are too nice to use doesn’t stop decay. Not using them means that you just don’t enjoy them as much as you could.

Don’t be burdened by things that aren’t even working anymore.

Don’t be fooled by things that are cute but have no life left in them.

Buy good quality.

Use your things as often as possible

Wear your diamonds every day.

SORT and Succeed.

My Next Free Organizing Class

What is one type of possession that you might say is your most important that you probably aren’t enjoying on a regular basis? Your photos! Let’s fix that.

This Tuesday, January 28, 2025, 7, pm, I’ll be at the Radnor Memorial Library with a free interactive workshop:  Your Life in Photos: How to Make a Beautiful Photo Book at the Radnor Memorial Library. Free registration here. I hope to see you there!

Organize Your Email with Me

The Email Cure class starts Feb 11, 2025 over 3 successive Tuesdays. We just finished a class series in January, and one of the participants who said he’s never been able to get organized in the past had this to say:

“Thanks for this class and program, I do hope and think it will ( and has ) helped me regain time and space. It seems like I will be able to follow it.”

We’re after real organizing results that can stick with a doable system. If you want to get a handle on an overload email account (or maybe multiple accounts), you NEED this class. Read more and register here. Contact me if you have questions. I look forward to helping you recover and make your email useful again.

This is the only time I’ll be offering this class this year. Doors close soon, so reserve your spot now.
