Library Quickie: Organizing Bookshelves

Just a quick note for today. You probably already know this little trick, but if you didn’t, I’m about to save you some dusting.

If your bookshelves look like this, with the books all pushed to the back…

Push the books forward, and line them up with the front of the shelves. Not only will they look neater, but you won’t have room to gather dust on the front of the shelves.

These books are in an actual library, and coded by the little white stickers, or I would totally have gone to town with some color scheme, height pattern, and horizontal stacking.

What do you think? Is this a trick you could use? Or do you already do this?

As a librarian, I thank you for not messing with Dewey to create your own order. 😉

But how will I double-stack all the extra books that I have? 🙂 That only fit if I shove two layers on one shelf?

Well, then you’ve already solved the “no dust on the shelves” problem. LOL. Double points if you can locate your copy of The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe without looking.
