I am so behind, y’all. Can you relate? But instead of crying that I’ll never be able to catch up on all my work, my holiday projects, my pinning (ha!) and you know…everything else, I’m enjoying what really matters. Like this…
My family and I love Sesame Place at Christmas (and the rest of the year, too). A Very Furry Christmas is on now at Sesame Place. We’re not the only ones. BuzzFeed calls Sesame Place one of the 19 Places that will make your kid’s dreams come true.
We went on opening day yesterday, but it’s ongoing mostly weekends through December 31.
I wasn’t going to do a review, but then I overheard some moms at the mall talking about whether it was worth going or not, and so I tell you, GO! It is one of the nicest family attractions in the area, in my opinion, especially for the money. And speaking of the money, the tickets are good for 2 visits this year, so it’s an even better value!
In full disclosure, one of my favorite things is the Best Darn Kettlecorn. Don’t take my word for it; you can trust all of these people, standing in line on the Street. That’s Sesame Street.
We had to get the kettle corn before watching the parade. LOVE the parade. They switch it up a bit from the summer parade, and it runs twice a day. I may or may not have teared up a bit during the last song. I mean, my kids couldn’t even stand for the parade when we started coming. In a few years, they might be too cool for this. But Sesame has become a Christmas tradition for us.
Bring the camera, because they have these adorable backdrops all over the park. Can you tell my kiddos were into it? You might see her Abby Cadaby costume peeking out there on the little one, and her Big Bird in tow. Despite the freezing temps, she kept taking her coat off all night trying to get Abby’s attention, to let Abby know she was in uniform. There are few things more precious than a 4 year old meeting her idol.

Just a few things you might want to know:
Season tickets are DEFINITELY worth it for the locals. Make sure at least one adult gets the upgraded season pass, which saves you $15 or more on parking each time. Season ticket holders get 30% off almost all food and most merchandise in the park. We got our picture taken and turned into Christmas cards here this year, and even saved 30% on those.
The food is good here. Not great, but definitely good. There are healthy choices at all the restaurants. Portions are decent. My kiddos usually share a kids meal. You don’t have to break the bank to have a nice time here.
Even if you are local, this is a great place to visit on holiday. We’ve gotten a hotel room several times, and the girls think they have hit the big time. Sesame Place offers play and stay packages that are usually a super deal, so check the website.
During the summer, half the space is a water park. This time of year, the water park is transformed into the cutest little train route. There are lots of shows and dry rides to keep you busy, along with character visits, and the parade, of course. Even the Sesame Place Spooktacular Halloween events are fabulous, with lots of great Sesame Street Halloween decorating ideas.
Next May, they are also celebrating the opening of a new attraction, Cookie Monster Land, with updated and new rides and areas. We can’t wait!
