I am just a tad bit ashamed that this post is so late in coming, but it all works out, because I have some exciting news for you about the Delaware County, PA Habitat for Humanity and it’s ReStore retail location. They’ve moved!
They still pickup household and construction goods for their thrift operation. What kinds of things will you find in their store? Well, for the past couple of years, I’ve had the privilege of partnering with them to create a display for the EnviroFair. That means I get to “shop” their store, and create a vignette that would work in any home. You can see what we came up with for the ReStore display in 2012.
This year I picked up about $120 worth of items, and brought it back to my shop for a little TLC. It doesn’t look like much in the store.
It needed a bit of work. Nothing fancy, just a little spray paint…
And re-imagining. Those shutters?
Remaking a few pillows that were really shot, we took fabric samples and added them to the scene.
Even this old rickety screen became something beautiful.
We were very happy with how it came out. Wouldn’t you love a redesign that was both green and SAVED green?
The Delco chapter even gave away a $25 gift certificate to their store, which can go a really long way! I love that our little pterodactyl was holding down the goods (some tables hosted a critter for the kid’s scavenger hunt).
I don’t get to swing a hammer for Habitat much these days, but I appreciate board member, Lin Floyd (left) allowing me to stay involved in this great organization.
See you at the ReStore!
Woohoo! They’re right around the corner from me! I’ll have Goodwill, the Consignment Store and Habitat for Humanity all within a mile of each other on MacDade.
