I’ve noticed that my fridge might be more organized than some. Big surprise, right? Trying to keep fresh fruit on hand is sometimes a challenge with a busy schedule. Here’s one thing that I do to keep my fridge organized, save money, and enjoy the fruit on hand, even when it looks like this:
No, don’t adjust your screen. Them apples really aren’t pretty. But even when my family won’t touch them from the fridge, they won’t go to waste. A little chop chop into individual oven-safe dishes…
Mix up a spoon of oatmeal, a spoon of raisins, a spoon of brown sugar, and a dash of cinnamon, then spoon over the chopped apples…
Top with a pat of butter (about a half tablespoon)…
Bake at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes. It’s yummy right from the oven.
This is what mine looks like.
So the next time those sad, wrinkled apples in the back of your fridge call your name, whip this little dish up for your family, and feel good about it.
Like it? Please pin it. Yum.
Do you use instant or traditional oats?
I used quick cooking oats. Is there any other kind? lol. Seriously, I think both would work well for this. Just spread the butter so it melts over most of the oats.
