Admittedly, I never have any idea what to give the guys in my life. Thank God for the internet. Now we can do reconnaissance that actually turns up some cool ideas. Like the ones my friend Julie Meyers Pron came up with on her Father’s Day Post. I love the idea of giving an experience rather than stuff.
But if you still feel obligated to give something wrapped in a bow, this might fit the bill. I love the Grid-It organizer by Cocoon. It is one of the best multi-purpose organizing innovations I’ve seen in a while. It’s basically a set of bungee straps sewn on to a hard backing, allowing you to reconfigure storage on the fly. And you know how much guys love bungee cords, right? It’s in their genes.
The company pushes the product as a gadget organizer, and it works great for the road warrior. They have a bunch of different sizes, including ones that have an interior slot for your tablet or laptop, and one that is made for the car visor. This one has gromets made to slip into a 3-ring binder. Ingenious, right?
But I can think of a million other uses. I use mine to organize my go-to tools, like those I carry around a room for hanging pictures on decorating jobs. I’ve even labeled the slots where my favorite tools go, so my assistants can use my tools and keep me sane by returning them to the right place throughout the day.
I may buy a dozen of these and reconfigure my work bag to have several of these Grid-It sleeves, all neatly lined up like books. I just wish they’d come out with chick colors. I could really use one of these in teal and one in periwinkle. I mean, women love to be organized to. I could even see this as a purse organizer, holding lipsticks and compacts, right, ladies?
But for now, we’re focused on the guys. I have one of these gadget holders in manly black for one lucky winner. Accessories not included, but if you want to load yours up with the newest i-gear, I’m pretty sure he’d thank you for it. Just enter the contest below. Good luck!
By the way, if you don’t win, there’s an addictive little game at https://www.cocooninnovations.com/game.php. See how many items you can organize on to the grid. It’s a fun way to waste 5 minutes.
I think I’d enjoy this more than my mom. I confess that organization gets me sorta excited!
I could see lots of little jewelry making tools lined up in this Grid-It, can’t you?
My husband would love this!
Oh, my husband would LOVE THAT!
What a cool idea! My hubby needs a better way to keep his tools organized!
